THE AVAC FAMILY

AVAC has always been a concept and product of Myrtle Beach. We are proud of the fact that we wereconceived and created right here in Horry county in 1990. We are family owned and operated by the Ferrell family, all of whom reside in Myrtle Beach. Harold Ferrell, the CEO, and his wife Rebie have lived in Myrtle Beach since the mid 1980's. Rebie is the company's secretary, and is very active in the day to day business. Harold has over 40 years experience in the wholesale and retail industry.Harold, as the vice president of the Whirlpool Appliance Corporation, helped to move Whirlpool to its strongest position in the southeast during the 1970’s.

Keith Ferrell, son on Harold and Rebie and co-owner/president, runs the day to day operation of the company. He along with his wife Kim handle office operations and all purchasing done for the company. Keith has worked in the retail side of the industry since he was 15 years of age. He has experienced over 20 years of retail sales and service. Keith is referred to by many in the area as the "GoTo" guy when it comes to the status of the electronics industry. Keith is an advid race car driver and sports fan. As a past track champion at the Myrtle Beach Speedway, he still enjoys mixing it up on Saturday nights with his fellow drivers and friends. He was both a football player and rugby player while attending North Carolina State University. Keith and Kim have 2 daughters, Stephanie and 'Lil' Rebie (named for her grandmother).

AVAC has employed some of the same people since 1990. Ben Moore is the operations manager and runs the warehouse, maintenance and the service side of AVAC. James Powalie, our general manager, also handles the appliance purchasing and runs the sales floor. Mark Cave has been with the company for 10 years and is the lead delivery and installation technician. AVAC has many employees that have over 5 years of service.
